The African qualifying section for the 2010 World Cup has seen some interesting combinations drawn. Hosts South Africa, already qualified for the World Cup, were also drawn out as the groups double up as qualifiers for the 2010 African Cup of Nations. Bafana Bafana have been drawn alongside Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Equatorial Guinea in one of the toughest looking groups. Another strong quartet saw Senegal drawn with Liberia, Gambia and Algeria.
Groups
Group 1 Cameroon Cape Verde Islands Tanzania Mauritius
Group 2 Guinea Zimbabwe Namibia Kenya
Group 3 Angola Benin Uganda Niger
Group 4 Nigeria South Africa Equatorial Guinea Sierra Leone
Group 5 Ghana Libya Gabon Lesotho
Group 6 Liberia Algeria Senegal Gambia
Group 7 Ivory Coast Mozambique Botswana Madagascar
Group 8 Morocco Rwanda Ethiopia Mauritania
Group 9 Burkina Faso tunisia Seychelles
Group 10 Mali Congo Sudan Chad
Group 11 Togo Eritrea Zambia Swaziland
Group 12 Egypt Congo DR Malawi Djibouti
The 12 group winners and the eight best runners-up will contest the next stage in the qualification process. Qualifiers will advance into a system of five groups of four teams. Each winner of such a group will qualify for the World Cup along with hosts South Africa.

Hmm, why is there only three in group 9, or was that the way it was drawn.

Pele said that an African team will win the World Cup by 2011... I don't think so I think Egypt, Senegal or the Ivory Coast are the most likely, but still, no chance really

i think the reason group 9 only has 3 is because that wouldve been south africa's group were they not hosting the tourney
