This years annual 442 rich list ... top players as follows 1.Beckham £112m - Not much of a surprise considering the amount of advertising and the amount LA galaxy are paying him to play 'soccerball' 2.Owen £37m- Invested in horses and property while he was out injured 3.Fowler £30m - Bit of a surprise considering he now plays for Cardiff, but also invested in property and that 4.Rooney £29m - 22 and 4th richest player in the world? 100k a week and 6m from adverts 5.Campbell £28m - 50k a week with Pompey and 80k a week with the Gunners, just didn't spend any of it 6.Ferdinand £26m - his record label (haha) made a loss of 50k but that's less than a weeks wages to him, endorsements for Nike and Ben Sherman made sure it didn't bother him 7.Shevchenko £25m - First foreigner 120k a week and Reebok pay him shitloads 8.Giggs £23m- 15 years of top flight football wages and sponsorship means Giggsy could probably buy wales if he wanted 9.Ballack £18m - 130k a week and Germany bum him, sponsereships with coke, adidas, T- Mobile and ... McDonalds(?) make him loads 10.Gerrard £15m - Finally, his imaginatively titled book "my autobiography" was a bestseller (Didn't think scousers could read personally ) + ridiculous wages don't hurt

Beckham may be overrated, but let's face it, he can still do a job for England on the right

Tbh, I was pleased when McClown dropped him but SWP needs to learn to cross a ball abd although I was very impressed by Lennon when he played in the World Cup, I do not think he is as good as Beckham is. Obviously Beckhams best days are behind him and someone will takeover soon, but atm I think we need him. Especially from freekicks
