main reason why shearer is in the race is due to his playing career and the fact that unlike the rest of the contenders he is english which nowadays means nothing but ppl like having a national manager the same nationality as the team

It would be better if the poll was who do you want it to be, because unfortunatly who i want and who it's gonna be are two complete different things. First Mouriniho will never take the job and neither will benitez, and secondly i think out of the names that have been put up there, Shearers got the best chance, purely because HE'S ENGLISH. We don't want foriegn managers.

mourinho is interested whether he'll take it is another matter tbh the few times weve had an english manager how well did we do? failed euro 2008 and i think wwith a english manager we failed to qualify for the world cup in 1994

Mourinho, as there's loads of Chelsea players in the England squad and they all seem to bum him. Plus United players have great respect for him. Despite being an arrogant waste of space, he's a good manager

yeah, true but it just annoys me that all the good english managers can't be arsed to take the job, but to be honest, i don't blame them after the way the previous england managers get treated.

yeah, well if it has to be a foriegn bloke then i hope it is mouriniho, but to be honest, you want a manager who's good at training and coaching, because obviously you can't buy players and he mourinho wasn't bad at that but really he had everything brought for him.

fair point but he would be good thanks to the fact so many of the england players knew him well and respected him that could up their performance mayb?
