Not my first choice to partner Crouch, but at least we're not playing 4-5-1 or something gay, apparently McClaren (from here on known as McClown) was going fo a piss when Israel scored the 2nd ;D

4-5-1 is what we need to play. We only need a draw. Then we could play with Crouch up there on his own with Lampard and Gerrard either side of Barry supporting him. Then you can have two wingers in beckham and cole, becuase personally i don't think there is a beeter passer of the ball on the planet at the moment, whatever form hs's in. Plus you need experience in big games, and Beckham has got bags of it.
Think about his free kick against Greece. I think there's a cchance we could be 2-1 down at 85 minutes and you need Beckham on the pitch.

nah, i think it needs to be Owen and Rooney starting whenever possible, with crouch, defoe or wallcott on the bench, unless someone big like heskey is on form.

Could work, bit harsh on defoe but i don't think it works with Gerrard, lampard and rooney all on in the middle at the same time because all three of them get drawn out of position looking to get the ball.

i would say put gerrard on the right and then leave lampard in center
